Meet-Cute: n. The contrived encounter of two romantic partners in unusual or comic circumstances. The circumstances are none of the typical ways couples meet. There's something cutesy about it. Possibly they met arguing over the last pair of black cashmere gloves hanging on the rack in the jewelry department at Bloomingdales. Perhaps mistaken identity or another wacky misunderstanding is involved.
There is no clear cut definition of what constitutes meeting cute. You can be sure that it's not any way you or anyone you've ever known has met a significant other...and of course, there must be a happily ever after.
